Yeah... sub 30 lbs. 1x12 combo amps are pretty common now, but almost all of them utilize class D poweramps, whereas the GK is good ol' class AB. It's also still the most compact 1x12 combo out there, probably thanks to its aluminum enclosure.

I was just on the GK website, saw a bunch of stuff labeled as "discontinued," including the staple MB150s. I also heard from Jason that the RB series was to be discontinued as well so the power amp could be mated to a new preamp. Can someone weigh in on this? IMHO the MB150 is the go-to combo...

Did you get to turn them all the way up? A main complaint people sometimes have with class D amps is that when compared to class A/B, they don’t keep up as well when you really turn them up. I also wonder if these feature GK’s own power amp module, or one that other class D amps share.

I recently saw in the comments of a youtube video that GK will phase out the RB heads in leiu of the arrival of the legacy heads. Is GK really going to stop making Class A/B bass heads? Will they still make the Fusion 550 and the Microbass combo? Should we start buying the current RB heads?
