I do think you are doing yourself a disservice with your responses, but that doesn't mean I have any issues with you. So I understand you - I said i'm not on either side and wanted to see how good the instruments are, and that is 'disturbing' ?

I'm seeing a lot of (understandable) vitriol here, and I believe Jon is definitely doing himself a disservice in his actions, excuses, and responses. I'm under 20 miles away from Letts Basses. I am actually nonpartisan enough to want to go check them out to assess them on build quality alone.

Here's my Super 5. Modded with Hipshot bridge/tuners (black), Bartolini HR-5.4AP and custom switching (Single coil/parallel/single coil). I am considering a refinish (natural or a stain) as the satin finish isn't holding up too well in the 9 months i've had it. Other than that - it's killer.

Long time lurker here (since apx 2006). Here's my D-Roc 5 and NG-3 both in Aqua. I got the D-Roc at the Liverpool Show last year after spending 2 days on the BassDirect stand with Sheldon. Absolutely awe inspiring guy and can't wait to see what they come out with next. The NG followed 6 months...

Sorry for reviving this old thread, but there is an interesting update to it. This exact bass ended up in the UK in pawn shop and I bought it, still in good shape and unmodified. The OP's assessment of it is on the money and it's a great (and heavy) instrument. It won't be a regular player...
