Strawman argument.
Adding information about children also seems a little odd, I didn't even know you had any until you mentioned it.

I get great feedback. No one is perfect or obviously. I have some very happy returning customers some of whom ownEddie, dont let this clown build you a bass. You will never be able to enjoy it.
Even if it isnt the steaming pile of poopiee that others have received, it will be a daily reminder of this awful Saga.
Could you imagine how pathetic the after-sales support would be from this tool when, not if, something goes wrong!
If you’re still happy for me to build you this bass then that’s what we’ll do. Send me an email and we will try and figure it out. We will have to come to an agreement based on timbers in stock and things like that but I’m sure we can reach an agreement that works. Or not. Whatever the case may be. I can’t keep responding to all the posts on here as there are just too many of you lol. But I do, and always did regret what went down between us and the two or three others that have gone unresolved. I really would like to handle this like human beings. And as far as what I’ve been doing to improve, it is an ongoing process of trying to make better guitars that have wider appeal and ultimately a good reception. This has been an ongoing thing for me. Never ending it would seem and I realise that I just have to accept things for what they are right now and finally try to deal with my past mistakes and go from there. You know where I am mate. Jon.
Given this saga has been going on now for 10 years, wouldn't the actual sum owed be more now once adjusted for Inflation/interest.

Your attention to detail when writing replies seem to be on par with your Business accumen and Talent as a luthier...I get great feedback. No one is perfect or obviously. I have some very happy returning customers some of whom own

Simple YES or NO question.Hello Russell. Long time no see. As you have stated this was almost 10 years ago now. I wasn’t in a great place. And I know the three basses you had from me were not perfect as let’s face it. I was just a beginner at the time. As far as I’m aware you did sell these instruments at a profit. I don’t know. I certainly don’t want to get into an argument with you again. It does make me a little upset to have these kind of comments coming at me after all this time and it was never my intention to defraud anyone as is being said a lot here. I just wanted to make the best basses I could and it hasn’t been easy. Anyway, what can I say apart from I hope you’re well and how did that tuner button hold up? Genuine question.
I'm not gonna read all of the comments, so pardon if I repeat someone else's thoughts.
1. Jon Letts' business model is unsustainable. A custom or semi custom for that price? Ridiculous. Jon, raise your prices... a lot. Your work is worth it. Then you would have the resources to deal with the unexpected.
2. OP should have realized this. Probably did, but arrogantly thought he'd get a "steal". Took a gamble and lost. Suck it up, dude. In the long run, it's a cheap life lesson.
3. OP could have taken either of 2 basses that had mistakes with easy and totally acceptable work-arounds. If he had, he'd be sitting with a nice bass in his hands, instead of nothing. There's what we want, and there's what we get. Not always the same thing. This happens in building construction all the time. Gotta deal with what's real.
For crissakes, you could work part time at McD's for less than a month and have this debt paid off.
OP, have you brought this to the attention of the bailiff? I understand that being burned like this leaves scars. It's happened to me, albeit at a fraction of the loss you incurred. At some point, I decided the I needed to cut my losses – it's not good to harbor the bitterness and anger. In your case, you have a court settlement on your side. Take it to the bailiff and let them chase this clown.

Maybe you should have read the posts before you reply. Blaming the victim isn't a good look in any situation, especially when it's a pretty clear case. Also, just FYI, there is a huge difference between the custom bass and building construction businesses.I'm not gonna read all of the comments, so pardon if I repeat someone else's thoughts.

I do have to fight streams of unhelpful comments atm.
Yeah, I saw that earlier in the thread. I don't understand how these legal judgements work. I would think that there are additional legal remedies to pursue when someone does not comply with a court order. After 10 years, it seems like the OP is equally as interested in achieving a moral victory as he is recouping the actual loss. Of course, that's easy for me to say as it's not my money or time at stake. He already went that route and had no luck. Letts told the Bailiffs he had no money...
