Ibanez Ergonomic Headless Bass (EHB) club

I haven't been able to find any official numbers on the adjustable spacing range, but I have my bridge squeezed in as tightly as it will go and I'm measuring between 16-17mm on my millimeter ruler. I'd say 16.6mm If I had to eyeball it. My SR1205 looks to be right at 16.5mm using the same ruler...

Ibanez Ergonomic Headless Bass (EHB) club

I've had a fretless before so I'm familiar with the transition. Definitely a learning curve! My concern is more about having two of the exact same instrument in different scales. Just worried my brain might go into fanned fret mode the second I put my hand around an EHB neck. It sounds like I...

Ibanez Ergonomic Headless Bass (EHB) club

Thinking about getting the 1005F since I'm in the market for a fretless, but I also play a 1265MS and I'm worried that I'll have intonation issues since I've developed muscle memory from playing the multiscale version. Anyone have a similar experience? I'd also be open to suggestions for any...

    Neck Damage in Shipment

I recently had an ESP B-4Z shipped from my previous home on the humid east coast to bone-dry Colorado, and unfortunately it's showing some signs of damage, either from the climate change or getting knocked around in shipment. The person responsible for packing it didn't do as nice a job as I...

Someone talk me out of this EB-2 knockoff from aliexpress

I wouldn't recommend spending more than $10 on anything from a generic Chinese deal site.

    The Soundgear Club

It's relatively easy to scratch, but not from ordinary playing. Just be careful not to knock it into anything. My belt buckle really did a number on the side of my 1205e before I noticed (about 30 minutes of playing).

    5 string bass selection

Why not get the ESP? It's a great bass.

    The Soundgear Club

Beautiful bass! What are the inlays made from? I looked around out of curiosity and couldn't even find another one that had the diamonds.

Any idea what the string gauge is for the Elixirs that come on the bass? I'm been using 'em since I got it and they still have plenty of life.

    The Soundgear Club

Anyone have any tips for adjusting action on the Premiums? I have an SR1205e with the truss rod adjusted to the best of my ability, but the buzzing is MUCH worse than my SR506 at the same string height. The biggest problem, however, is that the action is not capable of going any higher. I...

Bass EQ cuts in and out

He actually checked all that while I was there. It appeared to be a bad pot.

Bass EQ cuts in and out

That was the price for the official part from Ibanez. I took it by the shop today and was told that a replacement pot would be $5 and he'd take care of it all for $20-30. Ended up leaving it there since it's a great business, and totally worth not having to deal with the headache of sending it...

Bass EQ cuts in and out

Alright, looking at online prices the replacement pot alone is ~$24... tough decision. I e-mailed my local repair guy to try to get an estimate. I almost never do electronics work, so no multimeter here.

Bass EQ cuts in and out

I just got an Ibanez SR1205e from an online store and it has an interesting problem. In active mode, the tone is super bassy and the "low" knob on the EQ appears to have no effect. That is until I turn it almost all the way down, at which point it suddenly goes to zero and the tone sounds thin...

    Ibanez SR basses

They are very close in feel, as you would probably expect. The action on both goes as low as I need it to and they both play excellently. The problem with the SR5xx is that they are somewhat inconsistent. The fret edges on my SR506 are rough in places, and a couple of the frets make a very...
