Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

I have had this Yamaha BB424 since 2012, basically learned everything on it, and it's the perfect P-Bass for me. Now I don't play it as much as before, but it has a very special place in my heart, and I use it only on special ocassions. It is my "vintage" bass

Best recorded bass tone(s) you've ever heard

For me it is Tim Commerford on Evil Empire. Men what a tone, so complete and agressive. Also Jason Newsted on Metallica's The Black Album, you can hear the bass all the time, doesn't matter if you're hearing the album on your CD player, in your car or in your studio monitors, it is always audible.

    Pedal order ? Please

Really, the best advise is to experiment with the position of each pedal, there are no "right" or "wrong" ways, just what works for you. If I were you, what would work for me is the following setup: Bass -> Tuner -> Drop -> Compressor -> B3K -> SansAmp (routed to the FOH via DI or to an amp)...

    Passive/ active pedal switch?

Consider using a Boost pedal, such as the TC Spark Mini or MXR Micro Amp, when playing your passive bass. Keep the pedal 'on' during passive bass use and switch it off when using your active bas If you are using a digital multi-effects processor, create separate patches for each bass. Even if...

    Official ATK Club (Part 4)

I think the "R" is for "Rosewood", because all Premium ATKs from that Gen have maple fretboards. Anyways, Ibanez Japan has always done this kind of "special editions" with other products before.

    Line 6 HX Effects

The HX Effects can mount IRs, so using one of them with one of the preamps available (Sansamp and B7K emulators) can give you a sort-of amp and cab sim. In the end, as said before, the intention behind this pedal is only effects

Line 6 Pod Go: Cheaper, More accesible to the Helix?

I have used both of them for gigging before choosing one, and I went with the Helix. There are some pros and cons to each, and I'll try to summarize them all: Pros of PodGo: Independent "amp out" output: It bypasses the amp and cab sim, and is very powerful if you are using an actual bass amp...

    Official ATK Club (Part 4)

Thank you all for your answers. Anyway, I'm happy to be a part of the club, even if I don't have a number . This basses are amazing, I have been eyeballing them since 2012, and finally one appeared in Peru (where I live), it is as awesome as I thought it would be. However, I'd like to...

How many basses do you own? (Currently) Part 2

Right now I have just 3: - Yamaha BB424 - Sire V7 2nd Gen - Ibanez ATK 300 Good news is I can handle any "classic" bass tone (P-bass, J-bass or MM-bass), so I have a lot of ground covered. But definitely I will buy more...

    J-bass on a $600 budget

I was skeptical of the Sire basses until I bought one recently. Everything they say about those is totally true, found one used for $550 and have enjoy it live for the last month.

    Bass into a guitar amp

It happened to me recently, I went to a "rehearse room" (excuse the broken english) and used 50w guitar combo amps to play pitched bass on it, then I returned next week and the owner told me that he had to send his amps to repair. The explanation was that lower wattage guitar amps (up to 100w)...
