Update on the Spector. Finally got it cut and buffed out. I’m wondering what pups to run. Aguilar, EMG maybe even Bartalini. My other one has the stock EMG with the LHZ pre. Either this one or my white one will be going fretless as well. Just can’t seem to leave poopie alone. 🤣

I took 120 on the sander to knock of the clear. Just be careful when the wood starts to show. Then 320 400 to finish. I love using the sun when it’s in the horizon, it really pops out all the minute flaws if you use the shadows to help you. Bright light helps as well. But perfect cocktail hour...

I took it down to wood from there what you see it True Tone black sanded back down enough for the wood grain to pop. Now will add color on top. Finish with a glossy 2K

Yeah I will clean it up a touch more. Looking to go more on the darker scale of red or maybe a different color. Have the color more of an accent the dominant. I’ll air brush some more black burst when finished staining

I’m considering going all in myself. There is a vibe that draws you to it. I’m pretty good until it bites me and brings me back to reality. Makes me concentrate without having my mind wonder and making stupid mistakes not paying attention.

That’s it with the neck. I played MM for years and the little bantam fit like an old shoe. Thought I liked skinny neck but boy I was wrong. Highly recommend LHZ for your pre amp it just opened up the sound so nicely. Especially the B.
