    Upgrading Sire P7 5-string P/J pickups

I would suggest: Delano PC5 AL/M2 (split coil) Lollar single coil (60s jazz) Together very warm sound with some added richness. Also can be used solo and J pickup is strong enough for split pickup. Good balance.

    Upgrading Sire P7 5-string P/J pickups

Try Delano PC4 AL and Lollar 60’s jazz, it’s warm and clean sounding and output for both pickups is even. Full use to solo either and they also blend perfectly. Pole pieces of both align perfect as well for Sire P7 5-string.

Sire company doesn’t heat the solder-to parts enough obviously and then those cold joints/connections will arrise after a...

Sire P7 J bass bridge pickup noiseless?

Update: got reply from Sire, they told me the bridge pickup for the P7 is a split coil pickup, with a reduced hum noise. It is not noiseless.

Sire P7 J bass bridge pickup noiseless?

Thanks for your reply! I ordered a replacement pickup that is single coil as well, a Lollar J. To me the Sire J bridge is sounding pretty dead, at least on my 5 string P7 2nd gen. I also own a Sire V7 1st gen 5 string and that bridge pickup sounds good without any hum when soloed even. On my...
