Would two 8 ohm 2x10's have the same frequency range as one 4 ohm 4x10?

You are entitled to your opinion, but I don't see you or anyone else producing any documentation. Besides which, I would never believe the contents of a document produced by someone I don’t know and would never expect anyone else to either. The only way to know something for sure is to...

Would two 8 ohm 2x10's have the same frequency range as one 4 ohm 4x10?

I already looked at his website and I’m not trying to lecture anyone at all. I am simply stating facts that have been demonstrated to me by 2 major speaker manufacturers that are very well known worldwide. I certainly wouldn’t be disagreeing with the owner of a speaker...

Would two 8 ohm 2x10's have the same frequency range as one 4 ohm 4x10?

But mimicking is hardly ever a good thing. The only benefit of a ported design is that it cuts the manufacturing costs, but this is far out-weighed by the negative aspects that come with it. Actually achieving the desired frequency response without cheating or cutting corners will always give...

Would two 8 ohm 2x10's have the same frequency range as one 4 ohm 4x10?

Sorry, my mistake. I typed square inches, but I did actually mean cubic inches. It's late here in the UK and it's been a long day. The information I stated is correct. The only thing I didn't mention is that I was talking about sealed box designs. Ported designs would make more of a...

Would two 8 ohm 2x10's have the same frequency range as one 4 ohm 4x10?

No, I was just stating actual results for those particular volumes to prove my point that driver size makes a much bigger difference than cabinet size.

Would two 8 ohm 2x10's have the same frequency range as one 4 ohm 4x10?

If you compare an 8", a 10" and a 12" drive unit (manufactured using the same materials) in a cabinet with a volume of 3800 square inches, the 8" will go down to around 35Hz, the 10" to around 27Hz and the 12" to around 20Hz. Using that same 12" drive unit in 6900 square inch cabinet, it will...

Would two 8 ohm 2x10's have the same frequency range as one 4 ohm 4x10?

I don't quite understand your wording here. Are you saying driver size makes no difference?

Would two 8 ohm 2x10's have the same frequency range as one 4 ohm 4x10?

The frequency range would still be 40Hz-40KHz. The only thing you would increase is the sound pressure. A larger cabinet can help to accentuate lower frequencies, but larger drive units are the way to do it properly.

    Slap Bass Recommendations?

Although I'm only just starting out, I've read this thread with great interest, as I aspire to be a slapper!! I suppose there is no single bass that would be THE ultimate slap bass for everyone. Price and value for money will also play a big part in most people's decisions. My main...

    How low can you go?

Being from a Hi-Fi and Home Cinema background, I've learnt that the rating in watts of any amp doesn't really mean much at all when judging it's capabilities. I won't go in to the technical boring stuff, but it's more down to the current and how the amp uses it. There are different classes...

Need recommendation for a very small practice bass amp.

I wanted something small and ended up going for a Lowdown Studio 110. I was originally looking at ones for half the price, but they generally only had 8" drivers and were mostly much bigger width and height cabinets. A 12" cube with a 10" driver sounds pretty impressive on paper. I just hope...

Help Me Find A Video On Youtube?

Just noticed (later in the video) that it's a right handed guitar he's playing, but he's a lefty. Or his he ambidextrous?

Help Me Find A Video On Youtube?

Just past 1 minute (the first guy we see actually playing) has his string in reverse order. Anyone know why? Other than he obviously prefer it that way.

Has anyone thought about using a power-backup surge protector?

I use a 1500VA UPS for a home cinema projector, but really only to protect the bulb if there is a power cut. All my other home cinema equipment, which includes an Arcam 7-channel (250wpc) power amp and 2 M&K MX-350 subwoofers (400w each) are run off Isotek mains condioners. Running amps off...
