String rec for fretless with piezo

Thanks for the suggestions, I've looked into those Thomastik Acousticore strings but it seems like they're all roundwound. I'm worried they're scratch up the fretboard.

String rec for fretless with piezo

Nothing wrong with them, I was just hoping there was something else that might get a deeper thumpier more upright tone. I saw a vid on FB the other day, and a guy was playing a fretless semi hollowbody and he was using real upright bass strings. Sounded really cool. I don't think I can use...

String rec for fretless with piezo

Hi I have an Ibanez SRH505F. I bought it used, and it has black LaBella tape wound strings on it. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for something different, something hopefully more like an upright bass. I heard about some kinda nylon strings that are made for acoustic basses, but...

    Ramones sound

One thing I've learned about getting the Ramones sound is always do downstrokes only! Check out this thread All Downstrokes...Ramones Style

Yeah if they fit my Carvin I'll take them. Just trying to make sure, doing some research. These are the 3/8th size? Thanks! Matt

If the gold's don't get sold I'd like to buy them. I think they'll fit my Carvin bass.

    Broken turning peg

Thanks a lot for all the info, you really know your stuff. Yeah I guess that's true, 20 years of constant use, I can't really complain about them. Although I do like the idea of getting the Hipshot Ultralites. Thanks for the offer for the Gotohs, I'll let you know what I decide to do. Thanks...

    Broken turning peg

Heres pics of the headstock front and back. Yeah I should have ordered the hipshots. Maybe I'll do a full replacement down the line once I get this replaced and get the next couple gigs down. Thanks for all the replies everyone! Happy New Year!

    Broken turning peg

Damn wish I would have waited to talk to you before I ordered the part! In the reviews people said they seemed a lot sturdier than the one off the Carvin. This bass is probably 20 years old, I bought it used about 5 years ago, and play it everyday. But it's just one of those things I'm going to...

    Broken turning peg

Thanks for the reply. I just ordered a replacement from Gotoh it looks like the original and people say it fits on Carvins. Do you know anything about these tuners? I ordered one and if it fits on it and works out ok I might replace all of them. The bass is pretty nice, but honestly I never...

    Broken turning peg

This is a first for me. I just finished setting up my Carvin 5 string and was tuning up the strings when I heard a pop and my D string came loose. The post that the string winds around was loose. It seems like the post goes in the hole and then screws in, but there's also some kind of...

    Double Bass Timing issues, rushing/dragging

Thanks for all the advice everyone, been playing with my metronome a lot lately and I can tell it's helping. One thing I did last night at a jam session was to think of the head as the soloists were doing their thing, I know last week I sped up during "Pent up House' and this time I kept it...

    Double Bass Timing issues, rushing/dragging

I'm working on reading music and getting better at reading the rhythm. I don't usually have trouble with syncopated rhythmic lines, I just do it by ear. The tempo problems happen with my walking lines, straight up swinging quarter notes. Yeah recordings are always brutally honest, haha. We...
