Interesting! I had a feeling someone around here has custom made something along these lines. I’ve checked out barefaced a bit, but having something that fits the head like a combo amp would really make this for me.

I think I want something that has some texture to it. The tape wounds are great and I do love them, but I want to try something metal again. I just ordered some sunbeams on a whim, I may even try out the TI flats mentioned as well.

Reviving this here with some of my experience with the buzz issue... I’ve had my walkabout scout 12” for a couple years now, took it on tour and loved it! I have gotten a few soundguys getting a buzz from the DI as well, and it almost embarrasses me that he needed to use his own radial DI...

I’m interested- but I’m in Chicago and I’m not trying to get that shipped.... I WILL, however, be in Virginia on tour in June....

This is great advice, thanks @Omega Monkey! I think I’ll check out the genzler stuff with my Ampeg head and see what that sounds like. I originally thought using the genzler head with the speakers makes more sense because I figured it would distribute frequencies to its corresponding speakers...
