Appreciate the response. Part of me wishes they were still built in USA, getting past the mental block that a lot of higher end instruments are now coming out of Indonesia and hybrid construction. Of course the cost would reflect that.

Anyone that has purchased one of the newer releases of Tobias Basses under Gibson have anything to share after ownership. I know the current line is being made in Indonesia, perhaps the Cort factory but not sure. I thought I read something where they might start mailing them in USA again...

I owned a Yamaha BBP34. My only gripe was the bridge didn’t quite cover the string through body holes on the bass, one could see the string body holes protruding just past the end of the bass. Not sure if this was a one off. Would be interested to know if anyone else with a BBP34 observed this...

Admittedly I have always looked at Made In USA as the high end of instruments, with the exception of Made in Japan ie Yamaha or made in Germany ie Warwick. And yes Fender did have some bad years with their USA line. At least that was the way it was when I started playing bass 35 years ago...

Agree tort and sunburst for sure. What recommendations of pickguard for sonic blue? I think mint green also looks good, not a big fan of perloid on a pickguard
