    Noisy Treble

that was actually one of the first things i tried but didnt hear anything. i guess i was listening for a reverby echo sound but didnt hear anything at all.. didnt know what i was listening for either.. i bought the head and cab separate and the head seems actually in tip top shape.. not that it...

    Noisy Treble

you think the horn might be blown? i was thinking that was a definite possibility.. probably the most likely possibility as all signs seem to point to that the more i think about it..

    Noisy Treble

honestly the noise is still obnoxious when everything is set at 12 oclock. the 9 band eq is dead flat and ive not even been using it because everything only gets worse when i turn up the treble.. obviously i can turn it down and it fixes it but then it sounds dead..

    Noisy Treble

yeah im thinking tubes because these are definitely the original tubes. but i was a little miffed when i opened up the cab and found that the black and red wire were switched around in the white connector so im also wondering if its possible that the horn is wired backwards. its definitely the...

    Noisy Treble

i swear to god everything i do thats supposed to make it better seems like its only making it worse.. adding the furman seemed to make it more prominent and now after shielding it, seems like it made it a bit stronger.. i grounded the shielding behind all the humbuckers and to the back of the...

    Noisy Treble

i did open it and it seemed like the back two tubes were glowing a bit brighter than the other three which ive heard could be an indication of failing tubes. they do appear to be original as the input is the groove tubes and then two chinese and the back two i dont remember.

    Noisy Treble

without any cables attached to the front it hisses. the more treble i add (brightness, high button, treble knob, equalizer) it amplifies a hissing sound which sounds like a tv on a snowy channel. with the bass plugged in it becomes a high pitched whiny noise and every now and then it breaks up...

    Noisy Treble

i bought an ampeg svt3 pro used and an ampeg 610 cabinet and the treble is noisy. i have to turn the master up 100% at practice to match levels with the guitar and the thing makes so much noise. its like hiss or buzz i cant determine. im using ibanez passive humbuckers on a sr 405. it does this...

    Use amp with power conditioner?

im pretty sure a power conditioner is a better power strip.. it claims to filter out noises and has a circuit breaker. my particular unit, the furman m8l has a description as follows: M-Series conditioners protect your delicate electronic equipment by combining high voltage varistor (MOV)...

    bass cab buzz

i opened my ampeg 610 and found that the white plug was wired wrong. the red and black wires were switched around. it should go white blue black red. just pull them up out of the top and push them back down with a guitar pick. this will make the control and horn grounded.

    Amp buzz

i opened my ampeg 610 cab and found that the white plug was wired wrong. the red and black wires were switched around so the horn wasnt grounding. they pull up out of it and can be pressed back in with a guitar pick. replace the plug with the white wire facing the horn control.
