bass cab buzz

Hey guys I am new to this forum but I am not a new bass player I've been playing for quit some time now but iI just need a little help on find out what to do for my problem. I just purchased an ampeg setup (SVT3-pro head, BSE-115T cab, and BSE-410H cab.) The problem is that i am getting a buzz out of the BSE-115T cab, it almost sounds like the speaker is blown, but it's not b/c I just bought a replacement speaker for it. It is a bata 15 A speaker not the greatest but better than the SLM electronics crap. well anyways getting bac to the point, I just need help maybe it's my EQ or something but I doubt it(just a mid cut) anyways maybe the cab is wired wrong, I don't know I just need help!

Well, it might not be the actual speaker at all. I have a Fender bassman 1x15 " cab that had the same problem. The reason it sounded like the speaker was deffective was a very simple one. The cab was fitted with caster wheels and if one of the wheels wasn't standing firmly on the uneven concret floor the cab sounded exactly like the speaker was distorting because the wheel was ratteling.

I had a similar problem with a Carvin speaker- it turned out that air was escaping through the jack plate/ crossover setup on the back, which sounded like a buzzing speaker. I just opened up the cab and surrounded the inside of the jack plate with more insulation and the problem went away. I would recommend listening closely to all moving parts (casters), and holes (input jacks, ports, etc..) while playing and you will more than likely find the problem there!
Oh yeah, also make sure the speaker is very firmly held/ mounted against the cabinet and also that the speaker surround (the foam circle that attaches around the speaker cone) is firmly attached to the speaker cone- the same Carvin cabinet developed a loose speaker surround which would buzz against the speaker cone at loud settings.

Sounds like your'e distorting the preamp. Are the EQ set flat or are the knobs twisted to south east on the bass and amp too?

i opened my ampeg 610 and found that the white plug was wired wrong. the red and black wires were switched around. it should go white blue black red. just pull them up out of the top and push them back down with a guitar pick. this will make the control and horn grounded.
