Double Bass Any one using these small amps for double bass?

I got one of those.... and I have to say it's just about the best amp, overall, that I've ever owned and used - and I've had them all... from Bassman 50 stacks through Bassman 100 stacks to massive SVTs and TE 500s.

Bass Players are Their Own Worst Enemy!

I don't listen to the weight of the rig, or the weight of the histrionics, I listen to the weight of the music. You might be able to lift heavy now - but that doesn't last forever, and one thing that will damage your forever is lifting heavy now. Life-cyclic, and all that. Music, not badges.

Whats the biggest mistake you made in your bass "career"

I been playing for now what I suppose is a long time. Out of the tons of gear I've owned and played over the years, the worst mistake(s) I ever made was to sell four very particular pieces of kit that I have since come to regret very much: 1. A 1971 employee-finish trans yellow (the middle of...

    New from G&L!

So... they switched the supremely ugly headstock for the supremely ugly control plate. Duh. What price no control plate and the old style headstock? Is there anybody at CLF Research doing any research? Anybody there with the remotest sense of aesthetic? It would appear not.

    Singing over complicated basslines

He doesn't do that. The verse portion is a backing track. They never did this live without the backing track. Even in the mimed psuedo-live vid he doesn't even attempt it, he only 'plays' over the refrain.

Mismatched wings on a brand new bass. Keep or return?

Keep it. I love it. I bought a '83 Fullerton '62 re-ish Jazz in 1984 which is a three-piece ash and alder lam. The G side looks like pooled knotting and the middle and E sections are a straight grain. I didn't notice it in the store (Bass Centre, Wapping, UK) when it was on display...

    Fender Jazz Bass FSR/Special Edition

Not sure how they have the nuts to call all those natural finish MIM FSRs a 'FSR': there are MILLIONS of them! pyrohr's reply above is all the info you need on genuine FSR's. I meself, like roddimus, have a Sonic Blue one - serial #00020. Aren't I a lucky boy? Eh, eh?

    Fender FSR Club

For me an FSR is an FSR when the manufacturer says it's an FSR. The 75 PJ does not currently appear in the Japanese catalogue - not even in the 'Limited Edition' and '2013 Ltd Edition' sections of the catalogue. I strongly suspect Fender Japan are trying to use up stocks of '75 bodies as...
