I think it's just the pedal. I have the same one, the drive doesn't kick in until the last 10% of the knob, but it doesn't affect me much because I don't use it a whole lot. I'm not typically a pick player either, so I'll have to test the effect of it on the drive level when I get a chance.

I would personally advise against it, as there has been on issue driving me nuts with it. Whenever the bottom number of the time signature is changed (i.e. 7/4 ---> 7/8) the clicks are exactly the same. Basically any time signature you set is x/4. However, my brother who uses the same app...

That's funny, I said the same thing, at the same show.
