Yes, I know the dimensions of the NJ5FS. What I meant is the template sellers that I've found show a nice picture and tell you that it's for such-n-such a pup but no dimensions for the route are given.

been there - done that. how about other templates that would work for this set? The template descriptions online don't show the route dimensions so I can't tell if they will work. Otherwise, guess that i"ll just wing it.

Got a set of Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Bass strings last week. They are incredible! Half the finger pressure gives the same volume. Silky smooth - no sliding noise at all (with Fast Fret applied)! Beautiful, consistent tone throughout the set. Great B string! I doubt I will ever buy...

What's the difference between an active bass and a passive bass that's running its output through some effects (EQ, Reverb,etc.)? Advantages/ disadvantages of each? Can the same sounds ('modern, 'vintage', etc.) be achieved either way? Semi-Noob to bass electonics here. Dave
