No I don't own one, I don't have any personal experiences with the Axe FX unit, but I've been researching a lot, and for what I've read and heard and seen over the web is that it's possible to use the Axe unit as an amp head, maybe I'm mistaken, maybe it works only as a preamp. Anyway, since...

But that's just because the preamp from the Axe FX is built as a guitar amp, that's why it works as a guitar head, but as a bass head, nicht so gut, so even though it has great Bass head emulations, it doesn't work like a Bass head as good as it does like a guitar one. I know! Lovely.

Well it works as an amp too, and with the modulation possibilities it kills the need of an amp head, and the effects are simply amazing, I'm not planning on using it as an amp head, but still, great modulation capabilities. Insane unit, I love it and I want it.

Both are awesome, if you're planning on just looping your pedals get the Voodoo Lab, but if you're thinking about fully modding the functions, with presets for each one of your effects go with the Rocktron. Buth are awesome and save you a boatload of floor space.
