The L-1000 always had the OMG mode...though the electronics did change slightly, the L-1000 has always had this setting, even the few made post Leo era.

Yep, it is fatter than the L-2000 neck pup. Mainly because you are running in single coil, which is less transparent than the bucker sound. It is also running through the bass boost mode, which really adds a nice low end fatness that is hard to describe. You have to hear it ! I have...

Hands down...the L-1000 in single coil with bass boost. It's definitely the big daddy, and fatter than any of it's brothers. You will likely need to recone your speakers.

Most definitely black on this one. The Bahama is subtle, but recognizably blue. Does this have the sickle headstock or the modern headstock ?

Not much else to peeve about on these basses. Simply awesome, and super cool, to boot. The narrow spacing for me is a blessing, for the most part. Looks like the ad photos are from Brad Traweek, and GG Jaguar. That Bahama blue is ultra rare, and I sure do dig it, but I thought the one...

What amp rig are you playing it through ? What settings do you have your amp on ? What settings do you use on the bass ?

The finish chequeing is almost always caused by quick temp changes... It is most common when you go from very cold to warm in rapid fashion. You can watch it happen right before your eyes ! The ebony boards from G&L almost always have chocolate streaks in them, as they never dyed them...
