the wire on the body is connected to one of two screws on the body and the bridge screws touch it when the top is placed back on. the same wire touches the back of the pickups and the shielding as well.

this is me. took this a few weeks ago when string was broken. replaced strings and fixed the nut.

i've tried winding the other way on all of them and they bend around the screws on the metal bar or look funky. i havent done much research on my bass until joining the forum. and i see that these are worth some $$$ in good condition. funny because it was given to me by a friend who thought...

I own one of these. i broke a string and some how the nut slid to the right? gonna fix it...i was gonna put lighter strings on it anyway.
