    Easy response to that kind of obnoxiousness: "I had to fill in what was missing from the guitar part."

    Basses that used to be cheap and have now gone WAY up in price.

    I bought a new Precision in '76. Still got. Really don't know what it's worth now, but it's probably a little more than the $460 I paid for it.

    1976 Fender P Bass Value?

    I see that this is an older post, but it comes up as a reference so I should offer a correction here. I own a 76 precision that I bought new (yeah, I'm an old fart) so I'm very familiar with the provenance. The serial number is on the headstock.
