Powerful tube amp for Stoner/Doom (Orange? Sunn?)

I play the same style music, personally I feel the boss od pedal lacks a tad, I use one in series with a swollen pickle and it sounds weedeater rough. Although I feel yah on wanting an amp that is so beastly you have no need for pedals.

    fretless fret markers

I have two fretless basses, both with the fret lines on them. I love them! There is no shame in having a lined fretless.

    Fender Rumble - new 2014

I use a fender rumble 100 for home practice. It's decent for practice but I wouldn't use it for anything else. I've seen them on craigslist for like 60 - 80 bucks.

    Octave pedal for more beef?

So here is an update on the situation, last night in practice his amp got crazy hot and smelled of electrical fire. He thinks the super low octaves mixed with the heavy tube distortion being played super loud is hurting his amp. So no more octave playing. Also I sat down and really just messed...

    Octave pedal for more beef?

Honestly because I havnt found the sound I want from my two pedal combo I've just been playing clean durring practice and cursing the guitarist for getting so heavy and low haha.

    Octave pedal for more beef?

I get what you guys are saying, thank you. I've never played in a band like this, I normally play blues rock and never used any pedals aside a tuner. It's all new to me.

    Octave pedal for more beef?

Haha I agree but his sound is so heavy with it personally I like it. I just want to be heavier and deeper.

    Rat, Bass Muff, Swollen Pickle

Personally I like my pickle, I run a boss bass overdrive before it though for heavier lows and use the pickle purely for fuzz and substain.

    Octave pedal for more beef?

So this is my first time posting. I recently joined a sludge doom band, and in practice I feel I can't compete with our guitarist in the sense of beef. He's running an sg with dual humbuckers out of an all tube b52 amp and uses a digitec whammy with his down two octave enabled. He's ****ing...
