Keep old Ampeg V-4B or get something newer?

Why not unload the RB800 for the 550? I would have a hard time parting with the V-4B. Worst case, you have to take the V-4B out on a few gigs if you have to save up.

Mod Fender American Standard Precision Bass or Move On?

Bottom line: It’s just a bass. Mod it once; then mod it ‘till you’re done. Think of it as a hobby.

    SOLD Digitech Bass Whammy

Original owner of this lightly used Bass Whammy. Was never gigged with, only used in the studio and messing around with in the house. This unit works perfectly and is in great condition. There is one scratch on the left side of the pedal (as seen in photo). Comes with original packaging...

Should Peavey Reissue the T-40 (and/or others?)

I would like to see a redesign. I read in an interview with Chip Todd, he regretted making the body and the humbuckers so big. If I remember the article correctly, he said they should of scaled them down a bit. And to that i say, “Amen.” I’m sure a lot of T 40 fans would disagree though.

    Mesa 215, worth pursuing?

If I saw that at a trip to GC, I would probably take it home with me. You can always unload in the future at no loss.

Does anyone with an EB-3 (gibson or epi) prefer the bridge pickup solo'd? Opinions...

Lately, it’s mudbucker all the way for me. I agree with the OP the bridge tends to strangle the tone a bit…at least to my ears. The two amps I’m playing through seem to work well with the mudbucker; SVT 4 Pro and MarkBass cmd. I’m only playing live at the moment. If i was recording I might...

I've done a (near) 180 on maple vs. rosewood...

Right now I’m preferring maple for aesthetic reasons. I don’t really notice a difference in sound or feel. Who Knows? Maybe someday that will change. I did recently change the pickup. That difference I heard and felt…Big time.

    Rumble vs Markbass

Been more than pleased with my MB Cmd 102 w/ 15” ext. At a gig, my drummer walked through the crowd while another drummer sat in for a few songs. At set break he went on and on how amazing the bass sounded in the mix and how glad he is that I bought it. The band is a blues/rock trio and at...

What's the deal with Mark Bass amps?

Bought a Markbass CMD 102P w/ a 15” ext cab on craigslist. Paired it with my AVRI 57’ P + Aguilar AG 4P-60 pickup and I can’t be happier. I’ve always been surprised at the number of bass players that don’t care for there tone. That has not been my experience.

Recommend me a VERY good gig bag please..

I was giving my opinion to the OP with the premise that not spending a lot of money on a “bag” has has still satisfied my needs as gigging musician. I’m not coming down on people who spend a lot on protecting there finish. For me personally, the only nicks, dents or scratches I’ve had on my...

Recommend me a VERY good gig bag please..

Calm down Sweetheart. He said Very Good not Very Expensive. Don't equate price with quality.

Recommend me a VERY good gig bag please..

I can't justify spending more than $100 for a gig bag and i think that is pushing it. I've been happy for years with my Gator Two Bass bag, and it gets used a lot.

Purpose of volume control on Precision bass?

I only roll it off on gigs for the first few songs until I get my levels set. For everything else it's all the way up.

Why isn't the EBMM Sterling USA more popular than it is?

Just played around with mine. I didn’t notice much of a volume difference. The parallel sounds more scooped while the series had a midrange increase. I’ve never had a preference for any one position. I find myself switching things around for any given amp I’m using or room I’m in.

Why isn't the EBMM Sterling USA more popular than it is?

My 2001 Sterling doesn’t make it out to as many gigs as it used to. When it does come out, I ask myself why I don’t gig with it more often. My band mates always comment on how nice it sounds and that they prefer it.
