I can see how a pickup problem would be explainable but the thing is that on a five the D string is not anywhere near the split in the middle of the pup as the A string sits dead on center of the pup and that gets no dropout. The D string is dead across both pups even when I am using just one...

Seems I fixed my own problems. removed and checked all shielding and grounds reinstalled and the hiss is practically gone. Only there now when Highz is engaged and treble is cranked.

The Clear wire is hot and braid is common. I just installed my audere last night with bart pups. Excellent combo. Very happy. Just attach each wire to the screw connectors on the board as described in the instructions. Do not connect pups to anything else just to the preamps screw connectors

Does anyone have or know where I can get the original wiring diagram for this pre. It seems the former owners X-Wife tore into the electronics cavity and I need to get it working so I can use it. Can't afford to install new stuff. Has bart pups also. Thanks in advance for any help.
