I am available locally in NJ or via Skype to teach 4-part harmony
based on the Schoenberg Theory of Harmony treastise.
Understanding how to voice harmony in 4 parts via Schoenberg's
method (which essentially is a study of Bach) gives one
a profoundly deep understanding of music.
It cleared up...
paul,
do you have anymore info on scott lafaro and his mentorship with red. i'm a huge lafaro fan. but i just switched to fifths and am learning about the great red.

i'm assuming i have to get the 4th tuned strings in different guages.
if so, can someone give me the fifths tuning guages for a 6-string electric bass?
thanks much!
i'm about to get masuzzo's book, but in the meantime could someone give me some fingering tips for traveling up and down one string two octaves as i feel that this is one of the skills that is necessary to master this tuning.
is it standard cello fingerings?
thanks,
james
I see on the forum many have recommended Spirocore
for the Low C when tuning in fifths.
What type would someone recommend for the G string.
I'm looking for a great pizzicato sound but also a nice warm arco sound.
Thanks,
James
I need to replace my E and A or 4th and 3th strings respectively.
I'm replacing them with the low B and the F# for the 5ths tuning.
Can someone walk me through the "how to" of properly replacing the strings myself without having to go to a bass guy.
Thanks much,
James
