    Is your ampeg cabinet front or rear ported? The front ported cabs are easier to hear when your standing close to or in front of them. Rear ported cabs use the reflection of the wall behind them to help create the sound, and can be hard to hear unless you get way out in front.

    Yeah that boogie stuff is really loud. I have a 400+ that will peel the paint off the walls. What are your eq settings? Sometimes a simple boost to the mids is all you need to hear yourself, and cut through the mix.
