I guess its just an idiosyncrasy of this particular bass and its just a matter of trial and error to get the last little bit of the equation correct; be it shimming, replacing a nut, adjusting reveal or whatever - at some point you are either gonna get it right or have to make do with "its close...

Thanks for the info guys !! I didn't know about that so I've learned something else :) I bow to your greater experience. So, I guess there aint a fat lot I can do about this final issue; its just a case of having to live with it and playing on other areas fret board to achieve the same result...

OK guys, thanks for the info on the tuners - I'll stick with the standard ones supplied on it :). You guys know a lot more than me so, that's done and dusted !! So far, it seems to be gettin' there but, I still have the strange anomaly of frets 15 and 17 sounding a bit hollow/dead (counting...

Update on my Bass VI - Fitted Staytrem bridge as you know and now managed to get a .105 E string and its a lot better !! Less string wobble now so tuning is close to correct - I'd say 90%. There are still a couple of notes along the E string that sound a bit hollow about half way down the fret...

Hey - I think ya probably right :) We cant get half the stuff you guys can get; we're really behind the times in a lot of things. Maybe I ought to just move out there with you guys - at least I know that good music is still alive, kicking and appreciated over in the states !! Unlike here...

Hi Guys and "1stnamebassist" I've tried to get my bass VI to intonate/tune correctly and have even bought the Staytrem Bridge (this has helped) but its still not quite there yet. I need to get a .104 E string for it to hopefully just add that missing link that will enable it to go right :)...

Hi Everyone With a little trepidation, just purchased a new Squier Bass VI :) Already having issues with the E string/tuning/intonation etc., so I now have to endure the task of getting it to function/play correctly ! Thought I'd start with the bridge and get either a Staytrem or a Masterly -...

    SPECTOR® Club - Part 71

Man, those were fast replies. OK, someone asked if I got a Spector - Yes, I got 2: NS2A and a Performer. I was thinking about getting a Spector Legend 4 Classic off a friend of mine as it may be going cheap but, I hear a lot of talk about them not sounding too good with the tone pump jr...
