    Need the ultimate lightweight combo

+100 I've never understood why the Promethean P5110 didn't make it. For size/weight, power, and sound, the thing killed -- yet somehow never found a market. If you can find one used, jump on it. I won't be giving up mine ...

MEDIUM SCALE WARWICK ROCKBASS 5'er, this just changed everything

Just discovered the same thing, independently. Told by a stateside dealer yesterday that none of the medium scale RB 5s will be available in the U.S. -- active or passive, satin or black. Looks like ebonalley scored one only because it was a floor demo from NAMM. Bitterly disappointed...

Yeah, I've slowly reached the same conclusion. Six presets are a lot more appealing than two, and the real estate savings of the SB2 design will be wiped out by needing an adaptor. Looks like instant gratification (the BEF Pro is available right now) is the way to go. Thanks for your insights.

Thanks for the quick reply. Just to clarify, is the adapter intended to support _both_ MIDI and the HH hooked up at the same time? In other words, the performer could pull up a preset via MIDI, then immediately start applying Hot Hand control to pedal output?

Got a question for folks familiar with the Soundblox Pro and version 2 product lines: it's about how they handle MIDI and Hot Hand inputs. Right now, I've got a Programmable EQ that's controlled via the MIDI jack. Works great, and I'd like to continue that approach by adding a BEF 2 when it...

    a bass veritone

Another way to play the varitone game is to add this near the start of your signal chain: I use one with a Jag, and it puts four very different-sounding instruments on tap. (Five if you count turning it off.) Controls eight frequency bands; the LED display wraps around left to give access...

    LaBella original 1954 Jamerson--need advice

Well, for what it's worth, I switched to the 1954s from Chromes on a fairly thin-necked Italia. Didn't like the loose tension of the Chrome B, despite its girth. Nut filing was required to get that fat boy in, and I couldn't get it to stop rattling at the string height I preferred. The 1954s...

Please do. I think there would be a lot of interest.

That's awfully appealing. What exactly are we looking at?

    TC ELECTRONIC BG250

Thanks for the clarification, but the two BG250s I've tried had nada, zero, zilch treble control. I spent a fair amount of time experimenting with both passive and active basses, EQ combinations, comparing with that Uriah Duffy "tone contouring" video ... just about everything short of attaching...

    TC ELECTRONIC BG250

Same here: I sent my back for a replacement last week, since I loved everything about the thing except the AWOL treble control, which is kind of a deal-breaker for a bass combo. It's a great little unit, but they've clearly got a problem with quality control. Looks like a whole factory run...
