Flying with a Mono Vertigo - can it be done???

That was what I found as well. I just wanted to find someone who had "done it" and since I couldn't I figured that maybe I should be the one to do it! What's funny is that since I've been home I've only used my Mono Vertigo to carry my basses. If I want to play a different bass I leave one on...

Flying with a Mono Vertigo - can it be done???

I looked at the SKB Bass Safe, but honestly at $140ish plus the cost of a softcase (Mono preferably) I would have been over my budget. Also, I'm not sure I would have used the SKB here at home all that much. I realize that it sounds like I'm saying I didn't want to spend all that much to...

Flying with a Mono Vertigo - can it be done???

I went with the vertigo because I was looking for a more compact, and rugged bag. I didn't want/need the extra storage space the M80 provides

Flying with a Mono Vertigo - can it be done???

All in all my experience with the Mono Vertigo was awesome! Mono has absolutely outdone themselves and created a case that is rugged, stylish and easy to tote. Between 6 flights I was able to carry my bass on 3 and had to gate check it the other three times. Each time it was checked I...

Flying with a Mono Vertigo - can it be done???

Here's what I think. You should just go ahead and resign yourself to the idea that you might have to check it. If you think that way you won't be bummed out if they won't let you bring it on. The smallest plane that we flew on wouldn't even let us bring our roller bags, let alone my huge bass...

Flying with a Mono Vertigo - can it be done???

Sorry it's taken me a bit to update. I had to run a software update on my phone before I could get my international plan to work. I made it to Poland safe and sound...and so did my bass! My experience of carrying my bass was pretty awesome...honestly even better than I expected. On my flight...

Flying with a Mono Vertigo - can it be done???

Hey TalkBass! The topic of wether or not it's a good idea to fly with a soft case has been debated forever. In my perpetration for a 10 day tour to Poland I spent hours researching my options for traveling with my bass. The Mono Vertigo was what I landed on. The only problem, I couldn't find...

DarkGlass B7K - How does it sound clean?

I'm looking for a tube pre-amp to travel to Europe with this summer and I'm super interested in the the DarkGlass B7K, but the only video reviews I've seen of it have been too crunchy for my tastes. I use some overdrive, but not full saturation. Can this pre-amp do clean well?

The neck is a Fender Licensed Warmoth. It says Fender Precision Bass.

    Opinions on Frankenstein Basses

Here she is. I picked her up this morning. Needed a bit of a set up but other than that everything is awesome! I'm thinking about adding a gold anodized pickguard and bridge and pick up covers. The low E Hipshot tuner could be a bit flaky, but I'll put her through the paces tonight to find out.

    Opinions on Frankenstein Basses

I have the opportunity to pick up a Frankenstein bass tomorrow. It's an American P/J body, Warmoth Custom Neck (aged pearl block inlays), EMG Victor Wooten PAXJVX pu's, US Hipshot tuners with drop D. The seller is asking $350. So here's my question: What's your success been with mutts like...
