Unless I’ve missed it, I don’t think anyone yet has mentioned Waghorn, in Bristol, UK. Waghorn Guitars I especially like the Gibson RD-esque build they did, and if that’s not your thing there seems to be a lot of variety. A few grand should do the trick...!

I bought my Epi EB-0 from GAK last year (and had them set it up left-handed) and they seem like reliable, good people. Gibson definitely did a run of left-hand EBs in 2013, and GAK seem to have at least one available for next day delivery (the fireburst). I'm considering a lefty EB myself...

I had a feeling the G-3 would be your 'go to' bass! I've played a '74 Ripper for years now, and agree about the low output thing, but yes, the tone (and neck IMO) are just great. I must post a pic soon......
