i brought some tuners for a project bass but their way too small for the holes in the headstock ive seen the posts on this in the past but i was just wondering wood a strong wood filler do the job?

i recently got a charvel model 2 bass off ebay and one of the volume knobs is a little loose i was just wonderin how to tighten em back up...by the looks ofit it just looks like you would have use a small flat headed screwdriver but for some reason the little screw inside doesnt wanna move...
