Besides my worry about the E String, I am pretty haply having Flatwounds on it. Feels more comfortable to play and sounds the same through my little Rumble 15.

Is this a problem? String and not the silk is wrapping around the tuner on my E String

I'm not really attempting to change from EADG to BEAD so much as seeing if i like the feel and sound of Flatwounds. It's a lot of research on my part as here in Thailand Flatwounds cost as much as about 4 packs of D'Addarios haha

Do you think I could get away with doing a .105 sized E String on my Nut without having it Filed? I am wanting to get Flatwounds on this Bass to see if I like the sound more than my D'Addario Nickels. But i can't find .100 E string sized Flatwounds out here in Thailand...
