Good!

I'm keen to get your observation on those Geezer pickups!

.
Will have to wait until Christmas time. I am ordering them to familys house in the States and having them bring some mods for me when they come visit this December.

I found 3 different brands of Flatwounds here on Shoppee.

What would you reccomend? Seeing how they're all in the same price range I'm uncommited. I saw some Ernie Ball Slinky Cobalt core ones but they're 4x the price so I'll have to pass haha.

Me personally, I am thinking of the Roto Sound because of Steve Harris🤣

I know enough to have avoided the Short Scale sized, and the pass through body type of Strings. Would you use any of these 3 packs of strings for a Debut?
Once again I appreciate your time and patience. I really feel like the Round Wounds are too "twangy" and I believe these will last longer and have a more mellow sound.

Here, I got this one from Amazon Warehouse for $150.

It was listed used-like-new and still in the factory wrap. It had sharp fret ends, which is probly why it got returned. I fixed that with a little file in a few minutes.

I put Ernie Ball 105-45s and Ballistol on the fretboard, and it was ready to go. I like Indian Laurel now. I think it looks rustic.

I have another pickup for it, but think I will leave the original.

I like it a lot. It looks like a Fender and goes dum-dee-dum. :) 🎶

Nice find! Good for you.

Good move with the new strings. That really helps

Pickups... I swapped some Alnico V pups into my Debut. For the life of me, I couldn't hear any difference from the stock ceramics. I'd sure agree with your decision to leave the stock Pickups in.

Enjoy this fun P Bass!

I'd fitted my Daphne Blue debut P with unknown-name 45-105 flats bought used (I prefer 'already worn in') on eBay. Needed a set-up after the string change, and a little work with the fret end file as seems typical for the model.

Picked it up this evening, and it's fun and a very easy player - and sounds good to this bedroom bassist. The narrow neck makes life easy for someone like me with short stubby fingers.

Nice! You'll enjoy flats on that bass.

And post a picture of it for us!
