Min 2ohms - Will it break if I run at 8ohms?

Shocking eh. Cheers I'll do the location thing later. Still learning some of the ins and outs of the forum.

Min 2ohms - Will it break if I run at 8ohms?

Rubber cement seems to be one of those things that you can get everywhere but here. I got a tip off that I might find some at a bike shop however, so I'll hit a bike shop today while I drop this amp off. Damn useless tech. I'm really glad I asked you all about running the amp at 8 ohms...

Min 2ohms - Will it break if I run at 8ohms?

Speaker is broken in two places... It's a goner I think. Note the lovely holes in the mesh that link up perfectly with my ruined speaker. I can get some silicone today (mine had dried out) and have a go at fixing but I'm doubting it. On another note, I ran my T-max at 8 ohms and it now has...

Just because I have rolling papers doesn't mean I'm going to eat the silicone :) Thanks Will

I can't get rubber cement until tomorrow... What about bathroom silicone? It's pretty similar to liquid gasket. Very strong but flexible

Alright! I'm into it, this afternoon I'll get some rubber cement. I'll post some pictures later if I can. Thanks!

Min 2ohms - Will it break if I run at 8ohms?

I think it's more likely someone was careless with it in transport... A guitar headstock would have fitted through there, or perhaps the foot of some drum hardware. I prefer to load my own gear but recently... Never mind. I've looked around the net and found a source for a basket, but... I...

Min 2ohms - Will it break if I run at 8ohms?

There is a slit in the cone of the speaker and a corresponding slit in the mesh :( So I can get a new basket... Does a DIY fix exist in terms of doing it right now? Thank you all for your clarification.

No, I didn't know I needed a special cable! I have speaker cables and the SWR has both 'In' and 'Out' on the back... Am I wrong there too? I read up about watts and impedances a lot but I don't know in person anyone who is experienced in mis-matched set-ups, they all have nice matched rigs or...

Does this continue to apply? If I hook up my cabs in series to produce a 16ohm load, still no worries? Other than a further drop in power, obviously.

    Rats, he's expensive too.

Greetings, low end wizards. Breaking gear is an expensive habit. My Peavey T-Max (500W @min2ohms) had an intermittent problem with output and I've paid to have it fixed. At the time I was blasting the hell out of a Peavey 15" Black Widow 8ohms. If I'm not mistaken, the amp delivers less power...

Double Bass Feedback caused by after-length

There are many good reasons for playing one of my electrics instead of this hoary, chipped, bulky, inconvenient, expensive, fragile and feedback causing instrument. I can't, though. I love the middy tone, the subtle textures, the grind when you play it really hard, the way a note 'comes on'...

Double Bass Feedback caused by after-length

Thank you for your advice, the Krivo looks like the tool for the job. It will have to wait until I can afford it, however. I hadn't considered that dampening that part of the string could affect my tone.

Double Bass Feedback caused by after-length

Hello bassists. I've been playing upright for nearly two years and am currently using a revolution solo II pickup, which is great, I'm really happy with the sound. The only problem I'm having is feedback due to the string after-length (behind the bridge). The pickup came with an after-length...
