Vintage Fender chrome tuners no "R"?

Ok, thanks. But when did they use chrome instead of nickle hardware? My 68 P-Bass has nickle.

Vintage Fender chrome tuners no "R"?

Guys, I need your help once more. I have a set of old tuners that are chrome, not nickle. I thought all 70´s chrome tuners had the later "R" on them, but these don´t. What period are they? Sorry for the bad pics, no daylight here. Thanks!

SOLD Mu Tron 3X mu-fx signed by Mike Beigel

I´m selling my very rare Mu-Tron 3x. It´s just like the original Musitronics Mu-Tron envelope filter pedal… Only Better. The Mu-Tron 3X is the closest you’ll find to the original Mu-Tron, because at its heart, it is. This is one of a few that Mike Beigel autographed which makes it even more...

1971 Mustang Olympic White over black?

Thanks for your input guys! Yes, I set it up to my liking with new fat 106-44 pressure wounds, and the bass sounds and feels really good! The bridge screws for the G and D strings are a bit short, so I can´t adjust the intonation all the way. As these are US screws it might be difficult to find...

1971 Mustang Olympic White over black?

It’s reported that some finishes had nitro colours topped with clear poly topcoats, while others had poly basecoats topped with clear nitro. I can find many pics of olympic white Fenders of this period with the same crackling in the finish. What is TLC?

1971 Mustang Olympic White over black?

I just bought this 71 Mustang, great tone, nice neck! There seem to be not many white ones from that period. When I took off the ugly handmade black pickguard to reinstall the original shrunken perloid guard, I found the ugly parts where someone tried to scratch off the finish, to reveal a thin...

SOLD Beigel Mu-Fx Octave Divider new price!

You probably know what this is: The Remake of the classic Musitronics Mutron Octave Divider by the inventor himself, Mike Beigel. Beigel was the brains behind the original Musitronics Corporation, the NASA of ’70s stompbox makers. It still has the original box and booklet and comes with the US...

SOLD 1975 Fender Precision Mocha 3,8kg with slim neck all original

The custom color is Walnut, or more commonly called Mocha. With the maple neck this bass looks like the Precision that Jonathan Hischke plays. The body has the deep and comfortable shaping of the 60s, it´s the same shaping as my 68 Precision. There is plenty of wear on the finish. The back of...

SOLD 1977 Music Man Stingray genuine black over inca silver incl. OHSC

This is the most beautiful vintage Stingray I have ever seen. I even liked it better than my 79 inca silver one, so that had to go first last year. I bought this from the first owner. As a professional bass player he used it as his main working horse for many years. He swore he bought it new in...

1975 Precison tone pot acts strange

Thanks guys! I only moved the white PU lead to the vol. pot and that´s it. :-) The tone pot´s mass is connected with the foil only, but it works. Typical Fender 70s cost cut getting away with it stuff.

1975 Precison tone pot acts strange

I just bought a 1975 P. The tone pot doesn´t work properly, fully closed the sound is there with all treble, when I open it up it gets softer in volume. ? The pots and all soldering are original so I´m asking what this could be before I start working on it... Thanks!

    G&L L1000 vs L1500

Nice thread! I just bought a 1981 S-1000 and one thing is strange. The small dot markers on the side are more or less ON the frets, not inbetween. My first real bass was a fretless Stingray which I had converted to a bass with frets in the early 80´s, so I´m sure there are more former fretless...
