Anybody Play a Stingray with a Super Synth?

I'm thinking about picking up a Markbass Supersynth, but I was wondering if anybody uses it with a Stingray. I have noticed that "tracking" pedals don't work all that well with my 4 string Ray. I don't know if I have ridiculous expectations, but my EBS Octabass doesn't track very well with it...

Ampeg 15 Classic Cab - Should I jump on it?

An Ampeg 15 Classic Cab just hit the local craigslist for $200 obo. I bet I could get it for $175. I am currently running my Stingray into a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 into an older GK 410. I don't really like the GK, and I was looking for a change. Plus, I figure that they would sound pretty huge...

    Sansamp Pedals: What's the Differences?

Thanks for the replys guys, but I agree that youtube doesn't help me all that much with tone questions about pedals/amps , b/c the audio is so terrible. I guess that I'm just asking what's the cheapest sansamp pedal that will get close to my RBI.

    Sansamp Pedals: What's the Differences?

So, I have an RBI, that I have been using to record DI with. Well, we are leaving the studio and playing out. I bought a Genz Benz shuttle 9.0 and a GK410, thinking I would get the Sansamp fake tube tone out of a real tube, well semi-tube amp, but alas, I love the sansamp tone. So, I need a...

Just bought a Genz Benz 9.0 - Need Cab Suggestions

I put an WTB "Quality bass cab" add on local craigslist, and haven't got a lot of action on it, but 1 guy contacted me about a peavey 410TVX for $200. Its 8 ohms and he said its rated for 350 watts. Whats the general rule about power/ohms b/t cabs and heads? This is my first head/cab rig. I was...

?: Which Guitar Pedals Hurt Low End?

Thanks for pointing me to the FAQ section. I totally should have checked that out. Gave me a lot to think about. However, I an now confused b/t true bypass and hardwire, b/c well, I got a digitech hardwire tuner to get the true bypass, which they say it's true bypass, yet it is called hardwire...

?: Which Guitar Pedals Hurt Low End?

Actually, I kind of was talking about non-true bypass boss stompboxes. They say that they have some sort of buffered bypass, does anybody know about that, but I was really interested in when the pedal is engaged, but the bypass thing has been on my mind lately. We have been recording a lot...

?: Which Guitar Pedals Hurt Low End?

May be a dumb question, but I must ask. I am a recent convert from guitar to bass, and I was wondering if guitar pedals work as well with bass. I have been using a Phase 90 with my bass rig, and it sounds pretty good. I guess I'm asking more What types of pedals work better for one or the other...

Just bought a Genz Benz 9.0 - Need Cab Suggestions

As the title says, I have a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 on the way, and I'm trying to put together a cab plan. At this point, I have no cabs at all, so I think I have a great opportunity to build a "perfect" rig. Right now, I am mostly recording, and doing so through a sansamp RBI and headphones. We...

Markbass to Genz move... a bit wary!

I have what may be a stupid question, but I am looking at the Shuttle 9.0, and I wonder if it is ok to just use it as a DI for recording, and not running it into a cab. Right now we are just recording using headphones, but I figure that eventually I will be playing out.

Fender J-P Pick up Dead String?

My A string is much quieter than the other three. It is an American Precision Plus Deluxe, and has active lace sensors(one Split and one Jazz). I have tried to raise the split in the center. and adjusted the string height. The strings are almost new and flat wound. I feel like there's something...

Intonation issue on 92 Precision Plus Deluxe

They(the strings) seem to be set well. It's just like I've run out of room to move the saddle back any farther. I guess if I bowed the neck some, that would lengthen the string a bit more, but I've read that there's usually not much of an intonation change from adjusting the neck. What about...
