Do you let people play your bass?

Anyone can borrow my basses and do whatever they want to with it. Lets remember, its just a piece of wood and everything is fixable. if something happens and its not fixable, lets remember its just a piece of wood :)

Pino does it again! With Adele this time...

If you haven't picked up the new Adele record "21", stop what you are doing and run, dont walk, and get it! Pino's bass parts (as well as all the other bass players on the record) are right on point and really accent her beautiful voice and melodies...it's a great record for studying! Enjoy it!

Great bassists in Contemporary Christian music?

I suggest going to www.allmusic.com and type these names in...you'll find that these guys play on most CCM sessions and probably on your favorite songs...it seems that everyone has covered the "gospel" side of things and the more "busy" kind of players (Adam Nitti, Gouche, Norm, etc) that can...

    Why so slap happy?

Thank you CTbass613 and pjmuck... these are the thoughtout answers to my posed question i was looking for! it's helping me understand the psyche of players who do this (or who have in the past). I know what i do and why i do it...just never understood why people would do this...now im starting...

    Why so slap happy?

I agree...im not dogging people slapping..Im actually saying in part exactly what you are...do what you do and do it for soundcheck...if you dont slap throughout your set, don't slap in soundcheck... if you sling low, down tune, play with a pick etc, do it when you check so that the sound guy...

    Why so slap happy?

Why is it that everytime I go to see a band (whether rock, pop, folk, country, jazz etc) the bass player soundchecks/line checks his or her bass by slapping? The thing that bothers me about this isn't the slapping...its the fact that 98% of the time the band never does anything that requires the...

AGRO CUTS LOWS =*( Now what!?

Thanks for the compliment!...sorry that you're losing low end :( that saddens my heart. Are you using a passive or active bass? that tends to affect the outcome as well...I've noticed that when i'm using an older bass it reacts differently then when im using a newer one...and it sounds...
