    I bought the lowdown750 head from musiciansfriend for $499 a last christmas. I'm in love with it. Great sounds from everything on board, and works great using it as a power amp with my avalon preamp. I run it through a harke 8x10. Bottom line: Very happy with quality and value.

    Confessions of a flatwound convert pt 2.

    I've been wanting to pull the trigger on a set of flatwounds for some time now... But I have a question: How do Chromes react to an active pickup? I've got a Jaguar bass, and I'm wondering how well that bass will adapt to flatwound strings. thoughts?
