    Best glue to use for glueing new nut?

    AND glue stops the nut traveling sideways with string tension.... I agree bad idea for filing down the wood under the nut but in the end the same result even though nasty- looking! Also personally i would be keeping my bass neck as thick as possible around that point - file into it too...
