bridge replacement for a weird old teisco

First thing I did when I got mine was just bend down that metal peice that sticks up so it is out of the way. that was a great start. I think I used a hammer. Wasn't pretty but did the job. I ended up getting the hipshot with the smallest spacing they sell and it was a huge improvement. With...

    The Rickenbacker Club Part Twelve

I honestly could not recomend sanding it down more! It was a no brainer for me as the finish was already a mess and there were tool marks from sanding all over the body anyway. If you take it slow and gradually bring up the grit as you go it could look like it was meant to be that way. The other...

    The Rickenbacker Club Part Twelve

It's a 75. The nibs did not survive but it still feels great. Binding is as it was (sans nibs obviously) and he managed to do the job without sanding down and refinishing the neck. Shiny as ever and no chipping visible.

    The Rickenbacker Club Part Twelve

Yeah she's from January 1975 according to the jack plate. Picked her up on craigslist for a song back in 2007 (ish). It had snapped trussrods, and an old Gibson mudbucker that the seller said was dead (it was just a snapped ground wire at the pickup. The mudbucker was in a rout that looked like...

bridge replacement for a weird old teisco

Thanks for all the replies! I ended up ordering a hip shot a type bridge as it was the only substantial thing I could find that came close enough to the narrow string spacing. I have had the threaded saddle type bridges before and they drive me crazy. I think I'm a little too ham fisted with my...

bridge replacement for a weird old teisco

The pickups are the ones with the rails not the square poles so there is a bit of leeway vis a vis spacing. The one thing is even with the current spacing the outside strings are pretty close to the edge. As far as the height, there is a good amount of meat on the body at the neck joint so I...

bridge replacement for a weird old teisco

Digging up this old thread! I have been playing the teisco out more recently and the bridge has been giving me hell again. Still need to find me a replacement. Not only is it impossible to intonate but the sharp edges on the one saddle keep snapping strings. I even tried rounding it off with a...

    sleeper recording amps

what amps are you guys using to record? I'm not talking B15's or placing a mic in front of your 8x10, I'm talking little known secret weapon amps that can be found on the cheap. low watt things to pair with a nice DI signal, amps that would never cary a room but sound great real quiet with a mic...

I think I want a Rickenbacker but I don't know how to get one

also as far as brooklyn shops go. can't recommend Rock n' Roll Supply in bushwick enough. great prices, small but awesome inventory of great vintage stuff. all around amazing place to deal with. and as I recall the tech there is a total ric nut. have not been in there in a while but they might...
