    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

Thanks! I believe the titan-reinforced neck makes the biggest difference for playability. The action can be set very low without much fret buzz. The definition and midrange presence is also much better. Roughly triple the price of my old SRMS805 might seem steep, but given the high quality of...

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

I finally got my hands on an SRMS5 Prestige! Seems to be pretty much a Japan-only model, with very limited availability in Europe, and AFAIK their only multiscale Prestige-model since the SRFF4505 back in 2015. I've been pretty eager to get one, and finally found a brand new example in...

    Ibanez 2025 Lineup

They sure look great, but with so many new SR Prestige-models I'm a bit disappointed by the absense of a mutliscale version.

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

Yeah, I think the crossover bass is a fascinating concept, but was surprised to see the introduction of a multiscale model. Especially considering that the 6th string remains at 30", the same as the previous singlescale model. Perhaps the thinner strings sound better as a result, but I figure...

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

Agreed! And not just because I happen to own one - I said the same thing before I ordered it... An SRMS805 with Deep Twilight finish is pure pornography! :woot:

I too consider that a design flaw, though not big enough to be a dealbreaker. My SRMS805 has the Deep Twilight finish (top), and I think the Brown Topaz Burst makes the excess fretboard much more pronounced.

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

The SRMS805 was my first ever five-string, but I quickly got used to the narrow 16.5 mm spacing. As I'm sure you know, the monorail bridge allows for string spacing adjustment (up to 1.5 mm). I actually tried to reduce it a notch, but it made slapping more difficult, so I soon settled for the...

    The Ibanez Club (Part 6)

Yep, it seems to appear only on their Japanese site. [This invalid link has been removed] I don't remember seeing any other multiscale Prestige-models since the SRFF4505 back in 2015. Would've been a nice upgrade from my SRMS805, but I think they could've taken the scale length one step further.
