    I quite like the "3 screws and you're in" idea-handy if you need to fix the wiring in a hurry (eg 5 minutes before you're due on stage, which is the usual time for stuff to go wrong).     I only have a Mexico J-Bass but I've taken the tone pot and one of the volume pots out, wired the stock pups in series to one of the stock 250K volume pots - and it sounds great! Overdrive works really well with this mod, as does feedback. Overall tone is a lot more meaty than standard...
