I'm in the market for another bass and Squier Vintage Modified J Bass popped up for $175. Is this a deal I should go for or should I look around more? I've heard great things about the VM Squier line but I just want to make sure this is a sound decision.

Hey everyone. I went to my local store today and I saw a White Peavey Firebass head for 225. How does this head sound? I need to buy my first gigging rig for bass. Would it be better with a Sansamp BDDI?

In theory it is cheaper but that is until I buy a cab.

So I am trying to pick between two deals. One is an ampeg b2r and a carvin 1x15 cab for $320 or a GK 400b for about 200-275 and then I have to find another deal for a cab. This will be used in small to medium gigging spaces.

Yeah I've read that they are severely underpowered. How much so though? I am worried it won't keep up.

Thanks for the advice. I haven't been able to see any of those for that amount of money. And how good are the B2-R and B2re? Can't say I've heard good things about them.

I've tried. Nothing really good or if it is it is pricey/overpriced.

What would you suggest then?
