At first? Purely to be in the band I wanted. They needed a bass player so I adapted from guitar. Now I actually quite enjoy playing bass but only in a band situation, I find it really boring on its own.

It's not just this promoter, thats the problem. Theres only a handful of promoters in the area and all of the bars use them to arrange the gigs. If you want a gig, you speak to the promoter.
