Does anyone have noise or humming when using distortion pedals? How minimize this would a noise gate pedal be the answer?

hi I have a TC Bam 200 that I use for home practising with a Phil Jones C2 200 watt cab and its way more loud than I dare to crank it up!! gain knop less than half way and master volume also under halfway.Plenty loud enough and a beautiful clean sound and a TC BQ500 that I use for live gigs...

To be honest the PJB C2 sounds amazing! is light and small! But you may be right about needing something larger for a rock gig ( two guitars and a drummer!
