Small cabs~ PJB C4 or Barefaced 110..?

I'm considering getting a top notch very small cab and the current top rated small cabs appear to me to be the Phil Jones C4 (with four 5" speakers) and the Barefaced 110. I play mostly only at home now and my main BGs are my Squire CV60s Mustang and a soon arriving Nordstrand Acinonyx (Cat bass). The gear I use now is a TC Bam200 mini amp into TC's 2x8 cab. It's a nice setup but I'd like to experiment with trying to get an even better sound...
I don't slap much, and my favorite tones are deep and mellow, like an exaggerated upright. Opinions? Suggestions? On the two cabs I mentioned? Or others?

hi I have a TC Bam 200 that I use for home practising with a Phil Jones C2 200 watt cab and its way more loud than I dare to crank it up!! gain knop less than half way and master volume also under halfway.Plenty loud enough and a beautiful clean sound
and a TC BQ500 that I use for live gigs with an old fender 300watt 4x12.

In my experience, yes. The 4 speakers will likely have a higher thermal power handling than the single 10, which will mate better with most 15’s. I am certain the 10 could be louder due to cabinet design, while the Phil Jones is designed for the most lows from the smallest box.

You will enjoy enhanced clarity and definition in the mids and treble, and your lows won’t suffer at all. I often paired my C8 with a Genzler BA15 and it was surprisingly great. Incredible definition and projection. I could see the C4 or C8 mating well with a 15.

I'm thinking of maybe a new BG450 Compact Plus combo (just out this year) to sit on top of my old Aguilar GC112. Could be a great little rig for small to medium gigs. And the combo is exactly the same width as the Aguilar stood upright, which is a bonus!

For mid sized indoor venues, playing a mix of R&B, Reggae and Gospel, I have started using a GK Neo 212 (800 watts RMS) on the bottom and a PJB C-4 (400 watts RMS) on the top. I drive them with a GK MB 800 Fusion. They’re not matched power wise, however they “seem” to work well together.

Glad I stepped saw this thread. I am a recent owner of a C4 and will likely get a PJB BG450 in the future.

Right now I use it with an Epifani Piccolo which I have used with one Shroeder 15 for years (for everything).

I have a small room gig tonight (60 people or so and a small room too), but afraid the C4 might now keep up. Drummer, 2 percussionists, keys, guitar, and a singer. I could put a borrowed compact 15 under it (one of those Carvin MB15s) to fill the room a bit more without pushing the volume. Same gig next Wednesday and outdoors (but with PA support) so this combination will be useful next week.

What do you think? I guess it would not hurt to print the Carvin, even if it is just used to elevate the C4 (not plug it in) and see what I sound like. I am just afraid of going in with the C4 along and not have enough headroom as I try not to dig in too much when playing.

I had two TE 1X10 speakers and they were very good. I sold them and got two Barefaced One10 cabs, one with a tweeter.
I'm using them in my rock band. They more than suit my needs with a full band.

Ended up doing it with the PJB C4 alone. My amp only has one speaker out. Turns out it was all I needed, and it sounded terrific. Barely pushed it with volume at 9 o'clock. I have an outdoor show Wednesday, with PA support. Taking the Shroeder 15, it's what I have used before without an issue. I would bring a 2 C4 setup in a heartbeat. I am tempted to try one C4 and an amp stand, and fill the rest of the bass out with the stage monitor.

I use a C2 and One10. I just use the C2 for home practice , it would not fill a room. It sounds gorgeous at low volume.
The One10 totally blew me away. I expected a great cab , it exceeded my expectations. Well worth the price. I mostly use this as a rehearsal cab , but it would easily cover a mid sized room.
I have a pair of Bergantinos I gig with.

For live I use the TC 500 amp with DI to FOH. Also Dark Glass Harmonic Booster,Cali bass comp and DG vintage V2

Just bought a 2nd C4.

Twice as nice, I say!

I have two C4s, but rarely do I need both for most of the places I play. Small indoor gigs. The one C4 is so full and rich. I power both with a Mesa D800. This is such a nice sound. But don't get me wrong. Two C4s for just in case and it does sound so great when you double up especially for outdoor gigs.

I am loving the 2 cab setup. This video is not too accurate for a volume with band example as I am not playing with our drummer (the guira player is a sub who does an amazing job with a bass drum & guira).

I have a soft spot for Bag End birch cabs. I used to play a modular 2x15 set up in the red carpet, I loved that soud. I am always on the lookout for a used 12" birch cab.
