Ok thanks all. Odd that Hipshot recommended the HB7 then.. Glenster - drilling aside have you noticed an improvement over the stock tuners?

Hmm, I’d be tempted to take it to a tech to do, I’m really good at messing up seemingly straight forward jobs ha! On second thoughts and looking at another thread though the HB1 looks to be closer to a drop in replacement. I may just have to order 1 and see

The Hipshot HB7 is painfully close to being the exact same measurements as the stock tuner The distance between the 2 screws on the wider end of the plate is 3mm out from the stock holes, I wonder if it’s better to look for a tuner with an even larger plate and re drill so the old holes are covered

(First post, long time lurker here, hi all ) Has anyone swapped the tuners on their 2019 CV P or J bass? Is there a direct drop in replacement? I’ve searched other threads but there seems to be conflicting information and they are usually referring to the pre 2019 models
