I am having the same problem, hum/buzz is terrible. So far everything seems to be connected visually. This just started happening. I've had the bass for about two years, I do have a bad volume pot though. Not a production instrument.

I bought a KSD 704 used, had to clean it up a bit and construct a battery cover for it and it works just great stocked. Neck feels like any other 70's jazz and nails the Fender tone. Just dont drop your bass and knock it up against other things and it'll be okay. Concentric knobs sticks out...

You get a very nice tone from your bass. I swapped out my MM pickup and put in a Nordstrand and a coil splitter switch for that pickup to give me a bit more variety of tone. I kept the original neck pickup. You may want to check into that later. But yes, your sound is better than the ones I hear...

Wrapping the thumb around the neck is a no no, very bad habit that people just develope on their own. Guitarist shouldnt do it either. It slows you down and you use excess enery when playing that way.

What if you have a neck through body. thats what I'm dealing with. Any suggestions?
