    Yamaha Attitude Club

Hi there and congratulations for your basses. I had an Attitude Standard a while ago and I'm planning to recover it cos' I miss too much the thin neck profile and the tall frets, the only thing that doesn't convince me yet is the neck dive, any advices in how to correct this? beside the big...

    Help on my theory please!

Man I will tune it and see if it plays in tune along with my friend's keyboard. I've always think that I actually FELT the spaces narrower because of the whole neck dimensions, that as the specs said, the neck on an SR is quite thinner than many others, but since I tried the LTD surveyor, which...

    Help on my theory please!

@danomite64 man as I remember, you were pretty rude with your posts and I was just asking something, I was never rude to anybody and it was just a question, so if this got a little personal it’s up to you man, I never had any problems with anyone before and if I’m wrong I admit it, just like I...

    Help on my theory please!

    @danomite64 I know it's ridiculous that's why I think there's a problem, it can't be a factory failure or something?

    Help on my theory please!

@SnakeKappele man I think you're right, either are the tools or my view or my pulse but I can't get a precise mesasure of it, so I'll do what I posted above or just have it checked by a luthier.

    Help on my theory please!

No that I know, but here's what I'm gonna do: I will go to a sound engineer who's friend of mine and with my bass tuned, compare it with his keyboard and his BC rich innovator bass note by note. I believe he can also use his equipment to check the notes on each frets, I don't know :S

    Help on my theory please!

LOL Dude Mine is a little less than 14 mm from the slot of the 19 to the slot of the 20 and 45mm from the inner edge of the nut to the slot of the 1st!! man this is weird, I measured the slot along the side of the fingerboard. The scale of my bass should be smaller than 34" then?? Can anyone...

    Help on my theory please!

@SnakeKappele Duh!! your right, mine is 430 mm or so with a stanley tape so lets do this: please measure the distance between the slot on the side of the fretboard of the 19 fret to the slot of the 20 fret and post it, I'll do the same.

Replacing the neck vs. selling the bass?

Man basses are like women, you can have a lot of history with one of them but when something is not right or doen't feel right, maybe it's just time to move on. We might try to fix things thou cos' they might seem fixable, but dude bad habits die hard, is up to you man, it's your heart XD

    Help on my theory please!

@Stumbo I never had any problem before, I use to have a 24 frets Washburn bass and also a 20 frets Fender JP-90 and a 21 frets Yamaha Attitude Standard and it was never a problem to play from the 12 fret to the bridge and I actually played a lot on the high notes cos’ I use to be a Steve...

Replacing the neck vs. selling the bass?

The new American Deluxe Precision Basses are pretty much like a P-bass special but with precision neck a an extra fret (21 frets). I know there's a big budget difference so you can wait and buy it used or buy a Fender precision and get your Fralin dual coil pickup installed in it, you can also...

    Help on my theory please!

3 years ago I bought an all new Ibanez SR900 bass, it has 4 strings and 24 frets in 34” scale. The thing is, beside other issues, I’ve always had a hard time playing on the high positions and I thought it was MY PROBLEM, but apparently is not. I tried a few days ago an ESP LTD Surveyor 414...
