Hey guys thanks for the help it actually worked! I have one more problem though, the E string doesn't stay in the nut its hard for me to press down the 1st fret. How do I fix that?

Bass: Fender Classic Series '60s Jazz Bass A week ago I noticed that I needed new strings for my bass. Finally bought the GHS Flea Signature Bass Boomers yesterday. So I removed my old bass strings and had a clean slate. I put the E string on and the fret buzz was unbearable. I don't know...

I play with a pick and my fingers, what bass string can serve to both equally and really well? In my experience some strings sound really good with finger playing but suck with pick playing.

So I have three choices: Fender Classic Series 70's J Bass Fender Geddy Lee J Bass Fender Classic Series 60's J Bass I have tried all if these basses in my local music store and they are all great, but sadly I can only get one :(

Not liking the growl. The bass is amazing still.

I've recently played the 60s J Bass and it is a really good bass. Low action and standard "C" neck. I never tried the 70s J Bass but it looks heavenly wicked:bassist: Which one do you think is better?

I'm more comfortable playing on fenders, but I would like to try something new also. Any basses I should look at?
