Radial PZ-Pro - Powering with Pedal Board Power Supply

Solved my own problem. The PZ-Pro is center-pin positive. I simply needed to use the red polarity reverser included with my power supply. Sorry for overlooking such an obvious detail. I'll think things through more thoroughly before posting next time. Mods - feel free to delete this thread if...

Radial PZ-Pro - Powering with Pedal Board Power Supply

I recently purchased a Radial PZ-Pro for use with my double bass and I love it! I was hoping to power it from my pedal board power supply (TrueTone CS6) and use an HX Stomp through its effects loop. However, after plugging it in, it simply doesn't power on. According to Radial's website, it can...

    Hofner-(not just Beatle Basses)-Group Part 2

Not a fan of chromes. They sound too metallic to my ear. "Clack" while fretting is very loud and I don't like the way they feel against my fingers. Also, I did try to put a set of short scale chromes on my Hofner Ignition and it stripped the D-string tuner. Imo, put something else on your Hofner.

    Flatwounds on a through-body bridge

Strung my Sire P7 with some Rotosound 77's yesterday. Opted for through-body stringing and encountered no issues.

Ampeg PF 115LF - Damaged Inputs

Bought a used 115LF recently. At a gig about a month ago, one of the amp inputs on the cabinet stopped working entirely (zero sound). Switched to the other input which worked for about month and now that one has crapped out on me too (again, zero sound). So now, no sound from either amp input...

    Ampeg PF-50T

That is always a possibility. A laptop, router, and modem are all nearby. Will re-examine my studio for good measure. However, I have never heard this specific sound before and this amp is the only new variable. It's also consistent with the conversation in this thread: Ampeg PF50T popping...

    Ampeg PF-50T

So... I finally pulled the trigger and bought one! Picked it up from UPS today and I DIG the tone it's putting out. However, I am periodically getting a substantial clicking/popping sound from the transformer balanced out. It's loud enough to ruin it's ability to record with it. I have heard...

    Ampeg PF-50T

Good to know. Will keep an eye out for one.

    Ampeg PF-50T

Looks like they are backordered right now, and I don't really wanna deal with that, so I haven't placed an order yet. But these responses confirm that this is definitely the head I want. I appeciate y'alls feed back! Will post again when I pull the trigger.

    Ampeg PF-50T

What are y'alls thoughts on the PF-50T? Been thinking about buying one of these for playing bar gigs but wanted to hear some user experiences first. I intend to pair it with a PF-210 cab or maybe a 410 if has enough power. This will be my first venture outside of combo amps and my first time...

If you're playing music with Jamerson style bass, then I think you already have your answer.

Maple P-Bass Neck Replacement w/o Lacquer

Heard. Somehow it never occurred to me that Maple was so sensitive to aging/tarnishing. I still have a lot to learn about the use of different woods on instruments.

Maple P-Bass Neck Replacement w/o Lacquer

Not a hugely important question here. Just something that's been on my mind for a while. I have a Mexican P-Bass with a Pau Ferro fingerboard. I've been thinking of switching to a Maple fingerboard simply because I prefer the look, but I don't like the feel of the lacquer finish that comes...

    Spectra-Drive Woes

Late to the party. I'm looking at getting a Spectra Drive myself, and I've heard that the gain knob interacts with the distortion circuit in a unique way that produces fuzz. Look into that if you haven't moved on yet.
